Importing pets into Nepal
You need to meet certain requirements, including documentation and ensuring your pet is healthy. All pets must enter Nepal via Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).
STEP 1: NOC (No Objection Certificate): Nepal has implemented a new rule for importing pets. Each pet needs an individual NOC, valid for 30 days.

What we need:
- Owner’s Name, address, contact number, email, WhatsApp number in country of origin
- Address and Contact in Nepal (if available)
- Purpose of visit
- Copy of Owner’s Passport
- Copy of Pet Passport
- Vaccination Record:
DOG: Vaccinated against DHPPiL and Rabies (30–365 days)
CAT: Vaccinated against Feline Panleukopenia, Rhinotracheitis, Calici virus and Rabies (30–365 days)

STEP 2: Advance Notification: Notify Animal Quarantine, Airport Office within 48 hours prior to arrival.
Upon Arrival at TIA, you must present:
- Custom duty fee (depends on breed)
- No Objection Certificate (NOC) or Import permit application form
- Veterinary Health Certificate: Issued within 10 days by a licensed veterinarian
- Pet Passport or Vaccination Record
